L’Alizé MC2

On Saturday June 19th 2010, the second edition of l’Alizée MC2 was held. About 50 persons receptive to the transplant cause partook in an amazing yacht race. Directed by their captains, they took on the treacherous waves of the Saint-Lawrence River. Among the contesters, a sailboat stood out took the lead: l’imagine, with MC2 members on board. Conversely, the Games’ general manager, Andrew Webb, as well as his crew did not do so well and came up last, lagging for more than an hour behind everybody else. Better luck next time! All our thanks to our sea captains, their sailors and all those who generously contributed in funding the 2010 Canadian Transplant Games!

On Tuesday the 15th of June, in Montreal, took place the North-American première of documentary À l’Ouest un souffle nouveau, directed by Frédéric Lebugle and co-produced by Costa-Gavras. Ciel! Cocktail Enfer. A great fundraising evening!

Last Friday, June the 4th, MC2 Expérience Stratégique shattered all expectations by making way over the expected 15 000$ for its fundraising night Ciel! Un cocktail d’enfer at the Mess des Officiers at la Citadelle de Québec. The event, made possible thanks to the collaboration between MC2 and the Quebec City Club des Lions, attracted no less than 150 guests who gladly united in order to raise money for the 2010 Canadian Transplant Games of Quebec City.

Guests were greeted by angels and devils and then led down to the terrace, where they were entertained by skilled belly dancers performing to the beat of drums. Meanwhile, inside the hall, a professional harpist created a calm and serene atmosphere with a more classical style of music. The result of the two complementary atmospheres was a marvellous contrast suited to the event’s thematic.

All the while, delicious tidbits, sweets and sorbets were served along with wine for all to enjoy.

Even more, the silent auction proved a great success. Indeed, many participants were obviously charmed by the concept since bidders proved considerably generous in their purchasing of paintings, gym memberships, certificates and other appealing prizes.

Radio presenter Mr. Jeff Labrie delighted guests with a speech about the importance of organ donations and the upcoming Transplant Games while MC2 manager Andrew Webb went around, entertaining guests and sensitizing them to the transplant cause.

The event was made possible thanks to the participation of numerous voluntary workers as well as to the generosity of every guest present at this memorable evening. Needless to say, the event was a successful one and those who were present will remember it for a long time.
