My feelings after my run were a mixture of exhilaration, pride, joy, excitement and gratitude. I was and still am proud to have been one of the torch bearers. As an athlete, it means a lot having been one of the few to carry the Olympic Flame. During my run, at that particular moment, I was the only one in the entire world to have the Olympic Flame.

I was also excited thinking about what this could mean for organ donation. What better symbolism is there than passing the Olympic flame from one runner to the other? Much like with organ donation, one person is passing their organ to another, such that the recipient can continue living, can keep on running.

I am very grateful to my donor as well. Without him, I would not be here today, let alone be able to experience the Olympic Torch Relay.

I am hopeful that this will show others how organ donation benefits people and can make such a huge difference in someone's life.
