Denis Brière
President of the Laval University

«The Laval University is happy to be working with MC2 Expérience stratégique for holding the Canadian Transplant Games. The University campus will become an Athletes village during this nationwide sports competition.

Regarding the greater social challenges such as organ transplant, the Laval University holds both initiative and innovation. Indeed, our educational institution possesses a renowned expertise in the field of medical research. It also sets itself apart on the social level with a great commitment to its students. This special event will allow the university’s community to commit itself even further within this humanitarian cause.

The Canadian Transplant Games offer a new way to celebrate the gift of life. Few and far between are the times when the organ donation can be promoted while the accomplishments made in this field of research are celebrated. The students, as well as the general public, will have the opportunity to cheer on the transplant athletes while becoming privileged witnesses to the advances of science. Their participation to this event will certainly be quite stimulating for their career’s achievement.

I wish, in my own name and in the name of the Laval University, a great success for the 2010 Canadian Transplant Games in Quebec City and may the best athlete win!»

Louis Beaulieu
Québec-Transplant CEO

«Québec-Transplant sees in the Canadian Transplant Games event a proverbial springboard to promote organ donations. Our organization is in charge of the “sigh4life.ca” campaign to persuade the public to show its consent toward organ donation should fatality occur. No sports demonstration could be more related to our consciousness-raising goal than the Canadian Transplant Games.

These Games account for the outcome of the daily work done at Québec-Transplant, since we are at the center of the organ donation process in Quebec. To see the success of the transplants this way, thanks to the performances of transplant athletes in sports competitions is a very strong indicator that an organ donation is also a life donation.

We shall, in earnest, be a part of the activities linked to the Games, thus allowing everyone to familiarize themselves with organ donations and what they imply. The presence of transplant patients and their family, donators’ families and organization from this field as well will make this event a one-of-a-kind gathering for advancing the cause for Quebecers waiting for a transplant.

Good luck to all contestants!»

Régis Labeaume
The mayor of Quebec City

«The city of Quebec is happy to receive the 5th Canadian Transplant Games. In the name of its population, I wish to give all contestants the warmest of welcomes.

This event, carrying hope for the future, highlights the importance of organ and tissue donation to the people waiting for a transplant. It is the shining example that for those that recieve a transplant, everything becomes possible once again.

I enthusiastically salute the passion, the energy and the rugged will to overcome obstacles that drives every athlete. Their determination inspires and motivates us to win against our own limitations.

I invite you to take advantage of this occasion to discover the several amenities of Quebec City. More gorgeous than ever before, it offers a wide range of activities where art, culture, nature and fine cuisine hold a special place in the city.

My congratulations go to the activity hosts and the volunteers, as well as everyone supporting the organ and tissue donation cause through their actions.

I would like to wish good luck to everyone!»

Pfizer lends a hand to the transplant cause

MC2 Expérience stratégique is proud to proclaim that a new partner has joined the 5th Canadian Transplant Games : the multinational pharmaceutical company Pfizer has joined the event as a Bronze partner.

Pfizer is inspired by a single goal: Canadians’ health. Since 1849, Pfizer has been dedicated to developing innovative medications to prevent and treat diseases. But they believe to be truly healthy, it takes more than medication. That is why it joins forces with the Transplant cause to help participants surpass their goals and celebrate life! Let us remember that the Games will be held from August 9th to 14th 2010 in Quebec City.

This partnership between the Canadian Transplant Games and Pfizer will, among other things, allow Lyne, liver transplant in 1999, to participate to the Games for a third time and celebrate a life rich and full that she would never have known without a transplant. It will also allow Jean-Christophe, who has had a kidney transplantation 10 years ago, to experience the Games for the first time.

All thanks to our new partner. Its contribution will make the Games even more memorable!
